Now in beta on TestFlight
TesserClip
Fix copied text before you paste it.
Copied something from a browser, a terminal or an AI agent? TesserClip opens straight to it in a plain‑text editor. Fix it, copy it, and paste it where it belongs.
Coming soon to the Mac App Store. Requires macOS 27 or later.
From the browser, the terminal or an AI agent.
What you copy is rarely ready to paste. Fix it in TesserClip first, then paste it where it’s going.
From a web page
A paragraph, a code sample or an address arrives as plain text, without the page’s fonts, links and colours. Trim it before it goes into an email or a doc.
From the terminal
Command output, log lines or a stack trace. Cut the noise, fix the line breaks and keep only what you meant to share.
From an AI agent
Copy a reply from Claude or another agentic tool, or a prompt you’re about to send. Rewrite it and check it, then paste only what you agree with into a commit, a pull request or a chat.
Made for the moment between copy and paste.
TesserClip gives the text you just copied a clean place to be fixed. There are no files to save and no settings to learn.
Opens to your last copy
Open TesserClip and the text you just copied is already in a window, with the cursor at the end, ready to fix.
Every window is its own draft
Each window keeps the text it opened with. Copying something new never replaces it. Open the new text in another window with Command N.
A plain‑text editor
Rich text arrives as plain text. Smart quotes, dashes and other substitutions stay off until you turn them on in Edit, Substitutions.
Copy All Shift Command C
Copy the whole window from the toolbar or the Edit menu in one step. Your selection and cursor stay where they were.
Asks before losing edits
Close a window with edits you haven’t copied and TesserClip asks first. If you’ve already copied them, it just closes.
Knows when there’s new text
A dot on New Window from Clipboard tells you there’s something new. TesserClip checks that it’s text without reading what it says.
Your edits are safe until they’re copied.
Close a window you’ve changed and TesserClip checks with you first. Cancel is one Escape away, and nothing skips the question.
- Quit with Command Q any time. Your windows and their text come back next time.
- Already copied your edits? The window closes without asking.
